Evergreen Safety Council's Washington State PEVO recertification course allows current Washington PEVOs to renew their certification for an additional 3 years.
Description
Evergreen Safety Council’s Pilot Escort Vehicle Operator (PEVO) recertification course is now available for PEVOs who hold a current Washington State certification. You must have a current (not expired) Washington State PEVO certification card in order to attend. If your certification is expired or was issued by any other state, you must take the full 8-hour certification course.
NOTE: This is an ONLINE certification class taking place via Zoom. To participate, students must use a device (or combination of devices) with a working camera, microphone, and speakers. CLICK HERE to see how to get set up for your online class.
What you'll learn
Our online recertification class will review the latest industry standards and best practices for PEVOs that have been established at the state and federal levels, including:
● Legal requirements for PEVOs and their vehicles
● How to read and understand Washington State code pertaining to PEVOs
● How to pilot along a designated route
● Hazards and emergency procedures
Prerequisite requirements
You will need a valid (not expired) Washington State PEVO certification and valid Driver License from any U.S. state or Canadian province in order to earn your certification.
Schedule
The class schedule below is approximate and listed in Pacific Time -- please reference the map below in order to find the right start time for your class!
- Class check-in: 6:30 – 7:00 am
- Class lecture: 7:00 – 11:00 am
- Certification exam: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Student materials
After registering, you will receive a Course Instructions email with links to download the digital copies of the course materials. Physical copies of the course materials will be shipped to the address you provide during registration. You will receive tracking information via email when your materials have shipped.
PLEASE NOTE: If your class date is less than 10 days from when you register, your physical materials may not arrive before your class. You may still attend without your physical materials if you are comfortable using the digital materials during the class and certification exam.
Certification
Certifications will be issued to students who attend the full recertification course, present a valid Washington State PEVO certification, verify their identity with a valid Driver License from any U.S. state or Canadian province, and pass the open-book exam with a score of 80% or higher. Certifications are valid for 3 years.
A digital copy of your certification will be emailed to you, and the official paper certification will be mailed to the address you provide during registration 3-5 business days after the conclusion of your class. Please note that the digital copy of the certification is approved for operation in Washington State, but other jurisdictions may require you to carry the physical card.
Retests
If you do not pass the exam, you may contact our customer service team to schedule a one-time retest, free of charge.
