Washington State Pilot Escort Vehicle Certification Course - Online via Zoom

Description

Evergreen Safety Council’s nationally-recognized Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator (PEVO) certification is the most current, comprehensive, and cutting-edge PEVO program in the country. PEVO certification is required for operation in Washington, and many other states have similar requirements.

NOTE: This is an ONLINE certification class taking place via Zoom. To participate, students must use a device (or combination of devices) with a working camera, microphone, and speakers. CLICK HERE to see how to get set up for your online class.

What you'll learn

This 8 hour online certification class draws on the latest industry standards and best practices established at the state and federal levels. Through lectures, activities, quizzes, and discussion, students will be trained on:

  • Legal requirements of PEVOs and their vehicles
  • How to read and understand Washington State code pertaining to PEVOs
  • How to understand permits and plan for an oversize load move
  • How to pilot along a designated route
  • Hazards and emergency procedures

Requirements

You will need a valid Driver License from a U.S. state or Canadian province in order to earn your certification.

Schedule

Please log in to the Zoom meeting at least 15 minutes prior to class so that you can get checked in.

Be sure to check your time zone to find the right start time for your class!

Class begins at 10 am ET | 9 am CT | 8 am MT | 7 am PT.

The class includes two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break. The online certification exam will be administered as soon as the instructor-led portion ends. Students have a maximum of 2 hours to complete the exam. Your camera and microphone must remain on for the duration of the time it takes to complete the exam.

Student materials

Your student handbook and class packet will be shipped to the address you provide during registration. You will receive tracking information via email when your student materials have shipped.

Your registration confirmation email will also include links to the digital copies of the student materials, which you can download and view on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Certification

Certification will be issued to students who attend the full 8-hour training course, verify their identity with a valid Driver License from a U.S. state or Canadian province, and pass the open-book exam with a score of 80% or higher. Certifications are valid for 3 years.

A digital copy of your certification will be emailed to you, and the official paper certification will be mailed to the address you provide during registration 3-5 business days after the conclusion of your class. Please note that the digital copy of the certification is not valid for operation in most jurisdictions.

Retests

If you do not pass the exam, you may contact our customer service team to schedule a one-time retest, free of charge.  Retests must be completed within 30 days of your original class date.
