What you’ll learn
This course includes presentations, exercises, and references to federal and state highway construction and traffic control standards. Participants receive a comprehensive training manual and supplemental reference materials to assist with on-the-job practical issues and performance standards.
Requirements
In order to receive your Oregon TCS certification, you must submit verification of 2000 hours of work zone experience in the form of 2 signed letters (or 1 letter with 2 signatures). You can find more details about verification letters here.
If you do not have 2000 hours of work zone experience, you may still attend the course. If you pass the exam, you will be issued a Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification rather than a TCS certification.

Please log in at least 15 minutes prior to class so that you can get checked in. Your class is scheduled to last 8 hours each day, for 3 consecutive days. Morning and afternoon breaks, as well as a 30 minute lunch break, will be provided each day. On the final day of the course, you will take the Oregon Traffic Control Supervisor certification exam.
