Get ready for your Oregon TCS recertification course!

Please note, this is an IN-PERSON class. Please be prepared to physically attend the classroom training at the address and time provided above.

What you’ll learn

This refresher course includes presentations, exercises, and references to federal and state highway construction and traffic control standards. Participants receive a comprehensive training manual and supplemental reference materials to assist with on-the-job practical issues and performance standards.

Requirements

To be eligible to attend this course, you must submit:

  • A current Oregon TCS or TCT certification*
  • A current flagger certification from Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Montana

After registering, you will be sent a link to upload both cards. This must be done prior to the first day of class.

*Grace period: You may attend this recertification course up to 60 days after the date that your TCS or TCT certification expires. However, you are not eligible to work as a certified TCS or TCT while your card is expired. 

Schedule

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class so that you can get checked in. Morning and afternoon breaks, as well as a 30 minute lunch break, will be provided. At the end of the course, you will take the Oregon Traffic Control Supervisor certification exam. 

NOTE: Depending on how long it takes for you to complete the exam, you may need to stay beyond the 4pm end time. 4pm is not a guaranteed time for dismissal.

Student materials

At the beginning of class you will be provided with the student materials for the course, which are yours to keep. 

Certification

Oregon TCS or TCT certifications will be issued to students who provide the required documentation as outlined above, attend the full 8 hours of the course, and score at least 80% on the exam. Certifications are valid for 3 years.

As of January 1, 2023, OR TCS certifications will be issued in a digital format. You will receive an email with a PDF of your certification card, which you can save on a device (such as your mobile phone) or print.

All required forms and documents must be submitted and approved before your certification will be issued. 

Retests

If you do not pass the exam, you may contact our customer service team to schedule a one-time retest, free of charge.  Retests must be completed within 30 days of your original class date.
